The FLEXHYBAT kick-off meeting took place during the first week of February 2024. CDIF-UPC and EPIC-UPC members travelled to Gijón to meet the LEMUR-UNIOVI team at Universidad de Oviedo’s Gijón Campus.
FLEXHYBAT: Design and control of flexible hydropower plants by hybridisation with 2nd life batteries (PID2022-139479OB-C21) is a project within the 2022 Proyectos Generación de Conocimiento call by Spain’s Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades.
This multidisciplinary project is coordinated between research groups belonging to UPC and UNIOVI. Together, they gather years of experience regarding batteries, hybrid power plants and electric grids.
The project is expected to finish in 3 years. Meanwhile, both universities will cooperate towards reaching FLEXHYBAT’s objectives and results.
